In addition, this chapter also includes various practical applications of noncovalently functionalized CNT. This chapter focuses on the noncovalent surface chemistry of CNT and different approaches for noncovalent functionalization. CNT can be functionalized via different approaches and among them noncovalent functionalization has gained enormous interest because the native structural and functional properties of CNT have been preserved in the aforementioned approach. To overcome these problems, functionalization of CNT is a technique to modify its surface with multifunctional characteristics which make it suitable for many applications. ![]() However, some difficulties are found in handling and processing of CNT because of its hydrophobicity and highly complex structure which have imposed great restriction in its applicability in various fields. Because of its immense potential, CNTs have been used for broad range of applications in different fields such as energy, medical sensing, etc. ![]() Carbon nanotube (CNT), an allotrope of carbon atom, has been proposed as a promising and innovative candidate owing to its distinct and extraordinary properties.
